The pupil premium is a government initiative that provides additional funding to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and to support pupils with parents in the armed forces.  It is allocated to the school based on the number of eligible pupils between Reception and Year 6. Full eligibility criteria are used from Pupil premium - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) website.

We ensure that appropriate provision is made for pupils who belong to vulnerable groups. This specifically includes ensuring that the needs of socially disadvantaged pupils are addressed. This may include: Pupils who are eligible for Free School Meals (not including pupils who receive Universal Infant Free School Meals unless also eligible for means tested Free School Meals), or have been in the last 6 years, pupils who have been adopted from care or are looked after or children of Armed Forces personnel (including on the census within the last six years).
In making provision for socially disadvantaged pupils, we recognise that not all pupils who are eligible, (or have been eligible in the last 6 years) are socially disadvantaged.
We also recognise that not all pupils who are socially disadvantaged are registered or qualify for free school meals. We therefore allocate Pupil Premium funding to support any pupil or groups of pupils that the school has legitimately identified as being disadvantaged.
